QuantTech

On the 23rd of May 2019 we had our annual Spring Event, which was a big success! This time the event was hosted by NN Group in their headquarters in The Hague.

The cloud, robotisation, agile, scrum, Kanban, Docker, Jupyter, continuous integration, microservices, CPU vs GPU, Hadoop, Python, R, C++, C#, Java are some terms that many of you must be familiar with and often deal with on a daily basis. Our speakers, covering banking, asset management and insurance, shared which choices their teams and organisations have made, which challenges they have faced and overcome, and which ones they are still facing.

The three speakers at the event were:

• Niels Kamphuis (Business Architect, Finance COO / Strategy and Roadmap, ING Wholesale Banking)
• Roger Lord (Head of Quantitative Analytics, Cardano Group)
• Remo Minero (Head of Quant Development, NN Group)

To conclude the event, there were the usual complimentary drinks and walking dinner with plenty of networking opportunities for all participants. This time there was a surprise gift, for every participants there was a special limited edition TopQuants beer (“Slim & Lekker”), brewed by the Vet & Lazy brewery.
