BEST THESIS IN APPLIED MATH AWARD

Call for Submission

Graduates of Master’s programs and their supervisors are invited to submit high quality theses on any topic in the area of applied mathematics. Master’s programs at any Dutch university are eligible for submission.

All submitted theses must have a clear applied mathematical focus, and contain original theoretical and/or empirical work. The thesis must have been written in close cooperation with an external party, e.g. a company, a governmental institution or a foundation. Moreover, the thesis must be finalised (submitted and graded) during the period between October 15, 2017 and October 15, 2018.

The deadline for submission is March 15, 2019, 23:59 CET.

The three finalists, chosen by the jury of top level mathematical professionals, will have the opportunity to pitch their thesis at the 55th Dutch Mathematical Congress (NMC) in Veldhoven on April 23-24, 2019. During the event, the winner will be chosen by the same jury. An invitation for the event will follow in due course.

The author of the winning thesis will receive an award of €2.000,-. Expenses for the event in Veldhoven will be reimbursed for all three candidates.
